For over 80 years, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) has been respected for its dedication to the industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health and safety communities. We have grown and expanded without losing sight of our original goal – to encourage the interchange of experience among industrial hygiene workers and to collect and make accessible such information and data as might be of aid to them in the proper fulfillment of their duties. This original goal is reflected in both our current mission – the advancement of occupational and environmental health – and in our tagline: Defining the Science of Occupational and Environmental Health.
Since 1960, AiCARR (Associazione Italiana Condizionemento dell’Aria, Riscaldamento e Refrigerazione), the cultural network for energy efficiency, has created and promoted culture in the field of technological systems for production, distribution, and use of thermal energy in both residential and industrial buildings. The Association is an active and interconnected community of more than 2400 members, including designers, university professors, installers and maintenance technicians, manufacturers, public authorities, and students.Through the organization of conferences, thematic seminars, technical meetings, and visits; standardization activity (through participation in UNI, CEN, and ISO committees); the publication of Handbooks, books, guidebooks, vademecums, and the official magazine AiCARR Journal; and professional training courses provided by AiCARR Formazione Srl, AiCARR generates ideas for sustainable energy.
AIHA-200x72 Founded in 1939, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is the premier association of occupational and environmental health and safety professionals. AIHA’s 10,000 members play a crucial role on the front line of worker health and safety every day. Members represent a cross-section of industry, private business, labor, government and academia.
AIVC-200x79 Created in 1979, the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC) is one of the projects/annexes running under the Energy in Buildings and Community Systems implementing agreement, within the context of the International Energy Agency. With the support of 17 member countries as well as key experts and two associations (REHVA and IBPSA), the AIVC offers the building sector, policy makers and research organisations technical support aimed at better understanding the ventilation challenges and optimising energy efficient ventilation.
ASHRAE-(R) ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its more than 50,000 members worldwide focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability. Through research, standards writing, publishing, certification and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today.
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has over 12,000 HVAC&R professionals as members and additionally there are 10,500 Student-members. ISHRAE operates from over 40 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors. The Chapters of the Society participate in, and organize, activities to protect the Environment, improve Indoor Air Quality, help Energy Conservation, provide continuing education to the Members and others in the HVAC & related user Industries and offer certification programs, career guidance to students at the local colleges and tertiary institutions.
