World Health Organization (WHO) is the authority responsible for public health within the United Nations system. Its headquarters are in Geneva, and it also has six regional offices around the world. In particular, the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health located in Bonn, Germany, works as a centre of scientific excellence of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and develops policy advice and international guidelines, such as those on air quality and noise, to inform and support decision-making by governments, health professionals, citizens and various stakeholders.
