Launch of EASAC Report on the Decarbonisation of Buildings
On 2nd June 2021, the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC) held an online launch event about its excellent report on Decarbonisation of buildings: for climate, health, and jobs inviting a high-level expert panel of EU policy makers and key stakeholders.
In the comprehensive report, European scientists suggest fundamental policy changes to reach the EU climate goals by tripling the energy renovation rate in the EU and by shifting from nearly zero energy buildings to net zero carbon emission buildings.
The report starts with a chapter on Meeting the needs of building occupants, discussing the key elements of occupant-centred planning and building design.
